Our local medical center has a big turnover in the coding department, I don’t know why. The current ad is offering a $500 sign on bonus but requires CPC certification and experience. Only you can say if it’s worth it, but I’m sure you have to meet certain metrics to qualify for a bonus that high, and they might want you to commit to a certain time period. I don’t code, but my impression has been that it’s kind of a pressure cooker job. $8000 is nothing to sneeze at. Not knowing the specifics, it’s difficult to advise anyone what to do.
