When I first started transcribing, some 35 years ago, doctors were very particular about their reports and read them. Not so much now, they really do not care. Insurance companies rule the roost, technology has taken over our jobs in a sense, hence VR and now they just do it, because they need something on the record. Let us clean it up. Another thing, their command of the English language is marginal at best.
How many times have we corrected an incorrect pronunciation of a medication or even procedure or even a diagnosis? Most of the patients can thank the MTs who edit their reports that they are correct, not the "greater than god doctor."
