I really don't think you need retraining, especially if you have past experience. Things have changed drastically in the past 10 years, so many ESLs and of course VR, but the basics are still there, so to speak.
With google, it is much easier to research, that is, if you can understand a doctor from a foreign country, who can hardly say the word in the first place.
Good luck to you. BTW, the going rate is 4 cpl, all IC positions and you provide everything. No real steady work out there either, unless you just want supplemental or try to work for more than one company. They are all mostly owned by Nuance and AQuity (formally M-Modal), so they are all the same, just a different so-called owner!
