I used Breakaway Audio Enhancer for MANY years with my Windows 7 laptop. I just had to get a new computer which has Windows 10 on it and the sound quality on this computer is much better. I'm not quite sure if Breakaway is still available or if it became a casualty of "we're not going to change everything for Windows 10."
