It's like the whirlpool you see in your sink when the water starts moving faster and faster down the drain. MT is going down the drain!
According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, there were 52,400 US MT jobs in 2020.
Employment is projected to decline 7% from 2020 to 2030. The average growth rate for all occupations is 8%. So MT is definitely moving in the WRONG direction!!
So I hear what you're saying, about the toxicity of this job. Been there, done that. I wish the best for my fellow MTs still in the business...
