The information I believe you have provided is wrong. I am now going to be 66 in October. I took early retirement at 62. At that time, YES, I could only make "x amount per year;" however SS NEVER took into account that " I had my own business." That is BS to the max. Also, when I received my SS, my SS was nontaxable and I filed my taxes at the end of the year based on what I made as an MT. Again, the information you provided on paying "other taxes, such as FICA" is BS!
