I upgraded from Windows 7 to windows 10 - StillAnMT

It was seamless and did not involve a tech person.

I bought it from the Microsoft website. I did ascertain ahead of time that my computer met the specs needed to upgrade. I estimated my computer to have a lot of life left in it and so did not need to buy a new computer.

I kept my same Word 2010, and that turned out to be the right choice. All macros and settings in Word 2010 stayed put.

Again, the upgrade was seamless. Cost was $199.
