Does this statement, "While every attempt was made to correct errors during dictation, errors may still exist," automatically absolve them of any legal responsibility for not providing accurate documentation regarding the care and treatment of their patients??? If it does, then this is such a sad, sad commentary on how quickly things are deteriorating.
All the hard effort we've put into our jobs over the years to do things the right way for all the right reasons while these people come along and start taking over with their fancy software and loopholes in place so that they won't be held accountable for their sloppy and substandard healthcare documentation systems. And, to top it all off, they have no qualms about it!! We all know how much they hate having to dictate - we hear it in so many of their voices every day. It's obvious so many consider it an imposition on their time to dictate on their patients' care and treatment.
After placing a statement like this in a patient's chart, how many of these people dictating are going to make an honest effort at accuracy for the sake of the patients? I don't think too many of them will. They'll just go ahead and blame it all on Dragon now...
