QA positions are generally done as a "promotion of sorts" within the company. Being offered a QA position generally entails being a relatively experienced MT and one who has at least with Basic 4 acute care has a working knowledge of all report types. In addition, if work is not available to QA, you will still be expected to transcribed. That being said, my last QA position, which I left back in October, paid me an hourly rate, but I have also seen QA positions offering CPL rates.
