A foreclosure does NOT happen that fast. It's a very long, drawn out process (I have a close friend who went through it a few years ago, sadly). In fact, it can take a couple of years, and there are many ways to save your home. You can apply for a loan modification, a forbearance, a repayment plan, etc. The only way this guy could be in danger of the foreclosure process even starting is if he was already behind on payments to begin with. The banks don't want your home. They want to work with you so that you can pay. It's much easier for them and is better for everyone involved that way.
