This was my reply to them: "I have 33 years’ experience and I consider it highly insulting that this is all you’re offering for pay. Is it any wonder people are leaving this field in droves? When some people have to work two or more jobs with pay rates like this just to make ends meet (barely), there is something very wrong. I would work for nothing less than 8 and 5, and even that is a lot less than I was making when I first started out. This is the only field I know of that the harder you work the less you’re paid."
