None of us will ever know if the flags/blanks we leave for the wrong drug, wrong med dosage, wrong limb, or wrong whatever will actually "save" a patient's life, but I like to think that at least I'm doing what I can by bringing an obvious life-threatening error to someone's attention. Those kinds of errors don't happen very often, but when I catch something egregious and dangerous I do hope that it will be addressed and corrected in order to prevent a problem for the patient. It's unfortunate that our work situations have gone so far downhill and what we do just isn't as valued as it should be...
