Deciphering line rate - LM Posted: Feb 1st, 2018 - 6:19 pm
My first remote transcription job - 14.6 cpl!
Over the years, down to 10, 9 cpl and 1 dollar, then 90 cents per dictated minute.
Then came VR and I left the profession.
Today I am looking for straight transcription jobs, and I see two advertising "0.08 cpl." Does this truly, actually mean not 8 pennies per line, not 1/10th of 8 pennies per line (0.8) but one-one-hundreth of 8 cents per line (0.08)??? Is this a joke or do these recruiters not know anything about decimal points? A serious question. I don't want to make essentially a penny per three 65-character lines.
