recall if it did or did not; it probably did, but what I was trying to say was that its count was different from any other way of counting a line. For instance, if Word character count said 1200 characters per 65 character line, and of course you times that by your line rate, you would get a number, but that number would be totally different from what their platform said and they could not/would not explain the difference. Of course their way of counting was always less than what it should have been. To me it was a way of stealing money from the IC. They called their platform "Hal" back then and they would always say that "Hal counts lines differently." and that was the only explanation you would ever get. If you pushed them on it, they would put you on their "asks too many questions list," and eventually you would be gone. You are just supposed to mindlessly accept everything they say and do as gospel, and never question anything, ever. I was there for 9 years!
