It is also hard physical work and in a medical facility does require training to learn how to handle chemicals, sharps containers and everything else that goes along with patient care, not to mention some of the hazards involved. It pays pretty well but I can understand someone wanting to do something else. Lab tech would be another job with a lot of unwanted exposures. Medical billing would be a good option for someone who is an introvert, maybe scheduling, reception, an IT program or coding as well.
