The way things are in MT now, I would not recommend to anyone getting into the field. If you are working in housekeeping at the hospital, by all means stay there. If you don't like working in direct patient care, perhaps consider training as a lab tech (a little patient contact but not too much). Housekeeping must now pay more than MT. MT requires years of training to do well and with confidence. Housekeeping can be done with minimal training (for more pay than MT now). It's a no-brainer.
