I have been told by more than one PC that we should just leave standards alone. In fact, 2 different PCs told me we don't even have to read them.
That said, I can't stand to leave spelling mistakes so I always correct those. But weird abbreviations, missing punctuation, wrong formatting according to their own CP, or even some little thing like "sclera" when it should be "sclerae," I am told that if they made the standard, that's the way I should leave it. If they put CN II through XII, that's what they're going to get.
Anyway that's what I was told to do and I've never gotten in trouble for it. If I did, I would challenge it since it was on the advice of 2 PCs.
