New IMEDX line requirements - Angela Posted: Aug 7th, 2015 - 3:25 pm
In order to try to make the minimum line count, the ONLY thing we can do is have fingers moving on the keyboard at all times. IMEDX will just have to decide if they want us to abandon all the free labor we provide them (listed below) and hire others to do that part of the job.
MTs will no longer have time for:
- Searching demographics.
- Searching provider names.
- Repeatedly re-listening to dictation.
- Checking email.
- Responding to email.
- Reviewing QA.
- Notifying of descrepancies in dictation.
- Meetings.
- Training.
- Wasting time on indecipherable dictators. If they can't be transcribed at the rate necessary to produce minimum lines, they need to be sent back.
- Filling out time sheets.
- Researching new drugs/terms.
Blanks will increase astronomically as we will only have time for one listen, none of this adusting speed and replaying over and over to make a word out of "isteranblaten". When they dictated "O2 saturation 7%" or "the patient were understood" that is what they will get. Any provider who stops dictating to take a phone call, talk to a collegue, etc. will be abandoned and sent back.
So, IMEDX, do you want your minimum lines or do you want accuracy?
