Sniffles And Coughs?
Aug 21, 2011

What is the limit? I have a relatively new doctor to staff that sniffles 30 to 50 times in on assessment (psych). Snuffles them right up and gives a big swallow too! Coughs of course, and talks when he yawns. This is 50% of my work EVERY DAY. I've already refused to transcribe what he yawns and in trouble for that. I've now told the sup the if he snuffs 5 times I'll stop and hand it back to her. So many other things wrong with this doctors dictation. Too many to mention. But th ...

Accentus - Frequently Run Out Of Work?
Aug 21, 2012

I've searched and not found what I'm looking for on the company board about Accentus.  Before I test, I just wanted to know a couple of things.  I would be on the acute care side. 1.  Do you frequently run out of work? 2.  Is it true that they don't pay for spaces, but that it is based on a 55 character count, because that pretty much evens it out and is not a problem for me. 3.  Is the pay scale they gave true or just bait and switch? 4.  I have no problem with ...

Why Does Acute Care Have More ESL?
Nov 10, 2012

Acute Care?
Sep 23, 2014

As a relative newbie MT, I'm not certain what "acute care" means. Does it mean basically all reports that are from doctors in the hospital setting? That is, would any hospital operative note, hospital progress note, and all discharge summaries be considered "acute care"? I know a clinic note is basically a note by an outpatient doctor, right? And it's basically about more minor medical problems albeit could be chronic rather than "acute." ...
