Conflicting QA, trailing zeros, I know meds don't have them, but what about SM - MT52

lab results like hemoglobin 7.0? Thanks.

Yes, type it in labs - Because...

It's important. The decimal 0 is precise to the reader. They won't wonder if it's 7.2 or 7.9.

Do as you know is correct. If your supervisor type or the client specs say otherwise, then do what they say.

QA people have all had different training, etc., maybe they were on an acct where the client didn't want the zero. If you are unclear, then write to your supe-type/QA-head whatever it's called and ask for clarification.

Thanks. - MT52

what was the conflict? - nm

I think what she is saying - ...see msg

That someone has told her to not put a trailing zero on labs. The general rule is to do so, unless specifically told not to by the client profile or the QA-type supervisor type.

Re QA: I do not take QA feedback as gospel! They all have different training, different ways of doing things. I only pay attention to the client specifications and my QA supervisor type. That is IT.

Conflicting QA Feedback
Aug 28, 2012

I have two different QAs that have sent feedback to me for corrections having to do with thrombophlebitis.  One states that it is to go under cardiovascular, while the other says that it has to go under hematologic.  I am so frustrated with the recent change in QAs.  This is not the only conflicting feedback I have gotten from different QAs in the past few weeks. ...

OTC Allergy Meds
Nov 07, 2009

Hi, I'm transcribing a doctor's note that's describing the patient's allergies and how the patient has tried various OTC drugs, including 'pseudometafecin' but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to spell that correctly; I've tried all of the different variations that I can think of (sudometofecin, pseudometaphecin, etc.) and tried looking up 'allergy medications' and coming up with squat. I have a feeling I'm very close to how it may ...

I know we should type the sentence below as: Advair 250/50 1 puff twice a day but to me, that looks like it could be confusing when the dosage and amount of med are so close together.  I know we're not supposed to do it like this but this is what I type instead: Advair 250/50 one puff twice a day. Am I committing a horrible crime here?      ...

Meds I Can't Understand...
Apr 18, 2010

First off, is "med" an appropriate abbreviation or if I need to expand it.  Also, I'm having trouble with a few of the medications she's listing.  The first one sounds like Serapril...I know there's Seroquel, and that's a possibility, but it really sounds like she's saying, "pril." Is there anything else that sounds like that? The next one s/l permecidene and the last one s/l kolite. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! ...

Need Help Dealing With A Co-Worker Who May Be On Pain Meds
Oct 26, 2011

What would you do if you had a co-worker who is stressed, has panic attacks, had back surgery and is on pain medication, and accuses everyone of all sorts of things. She is totally inappropriate, paranoid, and destroying the work environment. If anyone suggests that she forgot to do something or did it wrong, she has a panic attack, or more like hysteria. She reports people for silly things, but even though the charges are silly, they still go in the record. She writes complaints about people co ...
