I am currently doing a dictation by a doctor who normally is not that bad, but today he is coughing, hacking, sneezing, and sniffling to the point that he is nearly impossible to understand. Doc, if you're that sick, you need to stay home and not make your patients any sicker. Doesn't do me any good either having to try to make out what you're saying. 'Nuff said. ...

About half of the dictators from my new account are Indian, most of them mumblers, so I'm going crazy. They can barely speak English. Wondering why there are so many Indian dictators here? ...

I am currently training and have a real hard time understanding certain dictators or hearing dictactors because of the background noise, or I have a hearing deficiency. I do have quite a few blanks on some report. I seem to have real high errors and blanks on my feed back. Do I have a chance? What kind of ear phones are the best? It is difficult enough to understand some of the foreign dictators but when they dictate with monitors beeping, nurses and doctors talking, in the middle of their lunch -brups/cruch/slurp and then they WHISPER ... UGH!!! It sure makes for a long, long work day! Just once I would love for a manager to send that message to the hospital to please ask the doctor to either speak up or move to a quieter place to dictate ... alas that never happens and we suffer through the report ... but at lea ...

I wish someone would tweak the VR as lately I am taking more time to do corrections than I could have typed it. It prints out whole paragraphs of things the dictator is not saying and these are plain speaking dictators. No wonder I keep getting poorer. ...

Let me tell you what happened to me the other day. I am traveling next week to Houston. I called a hotel there to make reservations. I said my name and then since it is sort of a long one, said let me spell that for you. For the last several weeks I have been sending reports for a particular MD to QA with lots of blanks. No problems with other MDs or PAs, just that one. Found out a couple of days ago that I'm not the only one sending lots of blanks back for the same MD. Finally got a couple of my QAs back and there was a notation that the facility is working with this MD to take English classes because the blanks have been words/phrases from the native language. A new ESL dictating a DS. Can't speed him up because he's too "new" (to this country?). He is spelling every other word!!!!!! I am currently with DSG, and I just have to say, DSG seems to have the WORST dictators of any company that I have worked for. I work on 5 different accounts for them and it is all the same. It really annoys me when some providers wait weeks, or months, to do their dictation, and then all of a sudden they're stats, even though the patient won't be back for weeks or months, or prn.
