ASR and Line Counts - sm

I was wondering if any of you could tell me your average LPH. Is the ASR at Nuance pretty accurate or are you constantly making corrections? How many lines per day are you able to do? I was offered a job here and I know I can trust you more than the recruiter to tell me the truth. Are the top producers really able to make a decent paycheck? Are you kept on your primary accounts for the most part? TIA.

I have been with them for over a year and am very happy. My line count is between 250 and 300, I have a great team leader, I am on a great account which is a combination of straight typing and VR so I do make more than if it were just straight VR. I know there are a lot of unhappy Nuance employees and I think you will find that anywhere. You really need to decide for yourself. If you are supporting yourself and need insurance, then I would not recommend them as their insurance is very high. I have secondary accounts to go to but very rarely run out of work. Their QA can be frustrating at times, but I question what I feel is wrong and have always gotten it reversed. Make up your own mind. Most people who post on here are people who aren't happy. I have been an MT for over 13 to 14 years now. I did leave Medquist because I was spread so thin on so many different accounts in one day that I couldn't keep the specifics all straight and my line count suffered tremendously. I am quite happy with Nuance.

That can make or break your paycheck. I was also wondering about the production bonus. Is it something you are able to achieve?

I work for both MM and Nuance and the Editscript platform is 1000 times better than Fluency.

Yes, the incentive is possible to achieve. I manage to get it about every other quarter. They don't make it easy.

high percentage required to qualify, you not only lose the bonus for that pay period but for the next 3 months. During those months you must qualify for and earn the bonus--but will not be paid for it--in order to "qualify" to be paid what you earned for the next pay period only.

I am pretty sure you get the every pay period bonus if your previous quarter post audit score is above 99% and you meet line count and percent to QA. I have gotten it every pay period even when I drop below 99% on post audits throughout the current quarter.

as soon as you train the ASR. Then you will be juggling accounts that have no work either, 3 or 4, maybe more at a time. It is impossible to produce anything based on those circumstances.

No I do not lie and I have never had to juggle accounts. I truly do believe that there are some bad team leaders out there, but I have had 2 since I have been with the company and both were great and always answered my emails and I was struggling in the beginning with the primary they had assigned me and she had me switched to a different account and since then I have had no problems at all. I have been on this account for about 7 months now and love it. Their speech recognition is much better than it was when I was at Medquist and I do make the bonus the majority of the time. Everybody has their own story, but I have absolutely no problem with them. Yes I would like more money but I am grateful for a job and one that I can work from home and I waste no money on gas, work clothes, etc. Make up your own mind.

have to give it a shot and see what works best for you. About the only questions I would ask here about a company is if they pay on time and possibly inquire about the platform; anything outside of that boils down to personal experience and that varies from person to person.

I really didn't mean to imply that you were lying. They (I should have said recruiters) tell you what you want to hear. That was my experience.

They are getting fewer, but there are some with this in their contracts and if you are lucky enough to be on one of these accounts you will have a much better experience! I have quite a few friends working here and some are happy and many are not; they are from different acquired companies and it truly depends on your account and how much is sent to India and your team leader. Glad you have a good account! I am with Accentus and no changes have been made yet, and I like my supervisor, so I am hoping I will have a similar experience, time will tell!

It definitely depends on where they end up putting you. I am on escription and really love it. I came from Medquist where I spent half my time bopping from screen to screen trying to locate doctors, reports, etc and wasted so much time. My LPH for last week was 301, fourth of it was straight typing and the other was speech recognition. Some days are good with great doctors and other days are the pits where I just punch out and walk away for a little while (have never EVER been reprimanded for it) and clear my head. If I needed insurance then I would definitely not be as happy because their health insurance is the pits but for what I need I do fine. There are some truly bad Team Leaders out there unfortunately and I feel sorry for those that are put with them. That can definitely ruin your whole experience. For the most part, I am left alone to work and very rarely even hear from my TL unless I email her with a question.

I was wondering if anyone knows exactly what OSI cuts out of their line counts?  Seeing as they use a remote website for line counts, it is pretty obvious they cut corners with what MTs get paid on.  I was just wondering WHAT are the cutting?  Do they only pay 1 space?  Do they not pay if you copy and paste? Do they only pay on a % per page - meaning if you have little on 1 page you aren't going to get any credit for those lines, etc?  Just curio ...

I know this has been discussed before, but what is up with these line counts?  I used to have no problem doing 200+ lph.  Now, I work at the same pace on an account with less ESL speakers and I struggle to get my required 150 lph.  I won't even comment on the fact that my straight typing has dwindled away to maybe 10 lines a day...on a good day.  Thanks for listening...this is just all so very frustrating.  I try to keep a positive attitude and be very diligent about my work and ...

What Could Be The Reason For Odd Line Counts?

According to the Escript, I'm doing an average of 300 lph on VR but usually at the end of 8 hours, I don't top 1100 liines most days.  On Dictaphone's ExSpeech, i used to consistently do 1800-2400 a day on a combination. I have noticed with EScript that 1 day a week, my lines will hit 1200-1300, and I even hit 1500 one  day, yet the lph were still 300.  It doesn't make sense. I kind of feel dumb even asking this question but how does one get these 300 lph counts I've read about on here?  I have 12 years plus years experience and have only worked in 2 different hospitals.  We never had expanders so I don't really know much about them.  I average about 180 lph but am realizing now working for an MTSO that I am going to have to increase my line counts.  Thanks! ...

Hi - I have a question regarding counting templates. I have a new doc who wants me to only count what he dictates, and not the templated review of systems, past medical history, social history, etc. which is all unchanged (unless he says to change it). Do you cut and paste your work into a "count" file to get the total, or do you tell the doctor that it has to be included in the count. And what about the times he does make changes to the "templated items". I welcome any suggestions. ...

Is anyone else suspicious about how they are calculating our line counts?  I have been siltting here VERY diligently and typing like crazy these last few days and my counts seem to be going DOWN!!!  I can't imagine how this can be happening.  Anyone else notice the same?  Is there some way to keep track?  But then again, that would take time from typing EVERY SECOND of EVERY HOUR like they want us to, now wouldn't it? ...

I have been an MT for over 10 years doing hospital work. I have never been able to do much over 200 lines an hour straight typing except for the rare occasions I get several eye surgeries in a row that are canned. Usually I fall below this.
