my experience with TTS - Dee

Posted: May 26, 2011

I just wanted to let anyone who may be interested know what my experience with TTS has been recently.  A job for a Delta Team member was advertised, for which I applied with my resume and cover letter.  It's worth noting here that I meet every qualification in the ad.  The job sounded like it was difficult, but I applied as I wanted a salaried position.  I received an e-mail from *******, the same one who was sent packing from another MTSO last year.  The e-mail gave all sorts of information on other positions availalable and a paragraph about the Delta Team member job.  She asked me to complete a questionnaire before the hiring process continued.  I completed the questionnaire, and then I received an e-mail from Andrea that I don't have the experience they were looking for.  I wrote her asking why that was not explained to me BEFORE she asked me to take the time to complete the questionnaire.  She had my resume and could see all of my experience, yet I was  asked to complete the questionnaire and then was told that I do not have ONE qualification that they are requiring.  The requirement that she said they wanted is nowhere in the ad.  It is no surprise that she has not responded to my e-mail.  If I could find a working number for this company, I would report her for such dishonest tactics.      **** Edited by Moderator:  See the Posting Guidelines; do not identify individuals. ****

I had the same thing happen. sm - anon

She told me in an e-mail to fill out the questionairre (Sp), but the was never contacted or was told I do not have the qualifications. She should get her act together.

Transcription, Technology and Support Google for # - Waste of time talking to them

Consider yourself blessed you don't work for these incompetent loons who run the company. I googled the full formal name of the company and came up with a number but don't know if I can post it here. It's going to be a waste of time to talk to anyone there unless you don't mind hearing BS and talking in circles.

If you need a clue as to the character and competence of TTS management, just do a search on these boards. Or consider what I was told, only 2 of 5 MTs who are hired after testing, screening and training, make it past 3 months of employment with TTS. I consider that a reflection on management not the MTs they hire.

I was told by MANAGEMENT NO one gets just ops, you get what comes to you first, but now they are running an ad for just ops, 1st shift? Rules seems to change like the wind....

I couldn't agree more that I am very blessed not to have gotten a job at TTS.
Just FYI, I also Googled them and found a contact number at their website . . . a non-working number. That just ices the cake.

New number for TTS. Website isn't updated. - Sign of unprofessional company

[ In Reply To ..]
Phone: (603) 539-6885

Trust me this number works but you are going up against a brickwall of unprofessional management and that is a sign of things to come if you take a job with this company.
TTS - Dee
[ In Reply To ..]
Thank you for this. That number does work. I just tried it. I am seriously considering making a call to the owner/big kahuna/head honcho to explain how Renner is handling their recruiting. She used the same type of tactics at another company, and it took a bit of time for the higher-ups there to discover it. She's the first face and voice of their company to prospective employees, and with her disingenuous communication, she will turn off good employees. I'm thinking that the person in charge there would like to know, especially if he or she is even thinking of turning this company into something better than I have heard it is. Thanks again.
TTS - sublimelytragic
[ In Reply To ..]
Trust me the owner "big kahuna" Linda does not want to hear anything you have to say unless you are a cheerleader for TTS.
No one wants the Delta Team job because you have to master 12 or so accounts and the aggravation that goes along with the job is not worth what they want to pay.
TTS - Dee
[ In Reply To ..]
Thank you for letting me know that. I had the distinct impression that the Delta Team job is exactly as you described. As far as filling the owner in, maybe I'll just let her figure it out on her own. I haven't decided yet.
It is NOT is exactly how described - trust me
[ In Reply To ..]
why don't you try talking to someone who knows rather than someone who just likes talking to hear their own voice??

I used to be on the Delta team a while back (only left for personal reasons). Its more like 5 or 6 accounts at most (most you never really work on anyway). You have account notes available to you always, its not like you have to memorize everything.

So, let's get this straight... steady work, predictable pay, flexible work hours, work that keeps you on your toes (some days MT, some QA, filling in for leads, different accounts here and there, etc, etc) sounds like a bad job?? I don't know why you didn't get further with the job process, I don't know you or the reasons behind anything but its not a job from he** as it has been described by previous poster (who probably has never had the job so really knows nothing about actually doing the job).

Like I said, I am no longer with them, but the actual job itself was something I really enjoyed. I'm sorry you missed out.

If you can't find a working number for this company, - ME

[ In Reply To ..]
Why would you want to work for them anyway?

I don't allow much time for forms, testing, questionnaires BEFORE being in contact with a person - unless I am pretty desperate to find work. It's usually a bad sign if you are asked to invest a lot of time before you even know if you are a real candidate for a real job.

I am screening potential employers - just as they are screening potential IC/employees.

Yes, I agree with you. Too much unnecessary testing and unnecessary questionnaire forms, etc., are red flags for me, too. I don't know if you saw my previous post, but I wrote that I feel very blessed that I did not go any further with TTS. I mentioned that I would like to contact the company and report Renner for her dishonest recruiting tactics but that I didn't find a working number at the website. That's why others were offering help with finding the company phone number, not to encourage me to continue to pursue this position.

I'm appreciative of everyone's help and support. It's nice to know that it's not just me who found Renner to be difficult and TTS not to be what I'm looking for in a workplace. Thanks all!

To each his own - different story

[ In Reply To ..]
I was interviewed by Andrea and had no problems with her. Unfortunately, things did not work out for me at TTS due to computer problems, but Andrea was a sweetheart.
Not current recruiter but previous TTS rep - disorganized & did not keep word
[ In Reply To ..]
I think of recruiters as representing a company's attitude toward their MT staff. There was another TTS representative about 1-1/2 years ago that caused me to take a job with another company because of her lack of followup keeping scheduled phone appointments. I can't mention her name here but she said she had been with TTS for years. If this was the way I was treated before I was hired, as if my time meant nothing and we could just reschedule another appointment, I figured it had to be a sign of the overall attitude of the managers. It is too bad we MTs keep getting downgraded in pay scale but to have the management staff not value our time adds insult to injury. Frankly I am surprised TTS is still in business from my experience and reading previous posts regarding this company. It would seem no one has anything good to say about their TTS experience.

You really think you will get accurate information on a company from a site of MTs complaining about their jobs/companies? Seriously? Those of us happy with our jobs and the companies we work for don't need to post all the good things about our companies. How many MTs will be honest that they failed their accuracy checks or didn't show up when they were supposed to work. They will just blame management and the company. What doesn't work well for one...can be great for another person. Keep that in mind when looking for a job.
TTS - Dee
[ In Reply To ..]
Yes, I certainly do think I will get accurate information from fellow MTs. Not everyone who posts a critical comment about a company is disgruntled. Many of us just want to warn others. That certainly was my goal when I posted my experience with TTS and Renner. I didn't fail a test, have any issues with competency, or anything of the sort. I just had a very problematic experience with this recruiter, so I thought others might want to know. As it turns out, many of us had the same experience, and hopefully, that will help others to steer clear of Renner and TTS and other substandard companies we hear about on this board. I think we're all smart enough to realize that, yes, there will be a few disgruntled people here and there complaining just for the sake of complaining, but we also can tell when someone is posting a legitimate warning. We all have to look out for each other. Some companies will abuse us, and as another poster mentioned above, have no regard for our time/schedules, so our sticking together and helping each other to know which ones are doing that is a good way to hopefully make those companies change their tactics and treat us better. That's certainly what I hope for.
Accurate information and facts about TTS - My point of view
[ In Reply To ..]
I'm not disgruntled. I don't really care and have no real grudge, but want to inform other MTs of my limited experience with TTS. Bottom line, don't count on a job with them even though you may be asked to test, interview and be screened. The people I spoke with 1-1/2 years ago were very disorganized and unprofessional and I figure if that is what I see initially it can only get worse. As far as I know this management staff is still at TTS and unless there was a major overhaul, to me TTS is a substandard company and deserving of criticism it is getting. The purpose of this company board is to share experiences with companies like TTS. Maybe they will change their attitude toward MTs and the way they do business if they read the MTStars company board. If not, I suspect a larger more organized company will take over their accounts and their existing MTs.
Love TTS - ABC
[ In Reply To ..]
Well then, let me add that I have been there for a few years and love it! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's been a great fit for me and that's all that counts.

I'd much rather be with a smaller personal company than just another set of fingers at a national one.
An unprofessional management team = - lack of job stability
[ In Reply To ..]
My point is if you work for a company that leaves a bad impression with those who apply because of lack of followup and disrespect for the MT applicant's time and even some ex-MTs "disgruntled" who may post here, even though you personally may not be affected at this point, it does not ensure you will not be affected later. A prevailing disrespectful attitude toward MTs by TTS managers and disorganization among TTS management staff can lead to a larger more competent company taking over the accounts and the MTs employed by TTS.
Hey, I've learned to keep my mouth shut as companies will find - a way to punish you for your complaints
[ In Reply To ..]
even when you do show up and have a great accuracy check. Seems to me we are a dime a dozen and it is no longer about the "employee" but rather the amount of emloyees and that should take care of the TAT. I mean after all, they're getting paid whether I type the majority of the lines or they get 4 people to type it. When one quits, it's not hard to find another.
Hi, there, Management! Still lurking, I see! - nm

Management/owner can't resist lurking. - You would think she would have learned something.
[ In Reply To ..]
I guess there is something to be said about an old TTS owner/manager can't learn new tricks. It just has to be the disgruntled MTs. It couldn't be her hand-picked management team she is so loyal to could it??? LOL!

Do You Think MT Experience Will Help In Getting An MR Job?

Experience.
Jun 08, 2010

I have been noticing that the experience level required to even get looked at for an MT job has went up. The 2 year experience mark has now went to 3 in most postings, and alot more postings are stating they want a minimum of 5 years. It is an up hill battle in an already hard market but with these kind of requirements I supose the seasoned MT's can rest a little easier and the newbies I guess can look for another line of work. I have already switched my gears and will finish my MA deg ...

Too MUCH Experience?
Jul 23, 2010

I am trying to figure why I never get a call-back on job applications anymore.  For instance I applied at one company who was advertising a week or so ago, I'm sure I did perfectly or almost so on the test, never heard from them, and yet now they are advertising again.   My range is not great, mostly ER and clinic, so maybe this is the issue but I have applied for these positions recently to no avail. I have 16 years experience and I wonder if they think I will want too much ...

How To Get Experience W/o Job & Job W/o Experience?
Sep 18, 2010

it's the old question - how to get acute care experience that everyone wants - when none of the local hospitals are hiring for MT (I've checked).  I could try "cold calling" doctor's offices and see who does their transcription (unless they have some kind of digital chart system - fill in the appropriate boxes on their laptops - I think our family doc uses that system). I actually had "formal" hospital acute care training 11 years ago - so seems like a lifetime ago.  Th ...
