No work for Transportal.... - cmhannula

I work for Transportal and recently one of my accounts went from drowning us with work to NOTHING. I haven't had any work now for over a week. My last 2 paychecks were just over $1000 each and now this paycheck will be just over $200!! I've asked supervisors/team lead about this multiple times and they claim to know nothing about it. Just wondering if anyone working for Transportal had any info?? Thanks!

Was it ER? My friend worked for a company that shares accounts with TP, and the account went to in-house, or that's what she was told when she was terminated. It's an ER account.

She's devastated, btw. Fast Chart treated her very cruelly.

Let me just say I'm not surprised. I never viewed them as a company that cared - former TP

I have been with TP almost three years and it is the best experience I have had with various services. Great accounts, rarely run out of work (usually more than we can handle), not micro managed, positive QA feedback, and decent pay - always on time by DD. Not sure why the disparity of opinions but I guess it may have to do with your supervisor and/or assigned accounts.

I'm absolutely happy with the company and the way I'm treated and such. It just seems that when we run out of work there's always a long drag of confusion and no work before more comes in. Then when more comes in, we have plenty to go around. SO I'm completely happy with them, just wondering where all the work went all of a sudden.

If the work does not rebound, ask for a second account or to move to a new team. I have never experienced overhiring there like I read so much about on these boards, so I think it is still a good place to work. Hand in there.

I need this so bad. I am hoping with this I can get off foodstamps and at least pay for the roof over my head. I have been pay cutted to death with my company. Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back? The message at the end of the test said 5 days. I don't know if I can wait that long. WISH ME LUCK PLEASE!!!!

They are horrible to work for. One, if you get the crazy lady, well, you will get all the crap work. She assigns the good stuff to her friends, pets and relatives. So what you are left with are the difficult dictators (not that bad) and short, short dictation. Scribe is the system they use and it is not worth your time when you do the short reports. Too much mouse time. Overhire, run out of work, treat people like crap, abundance of work. It is a cycle with them. Been there 2 years and getting off this ride now.. Anywhere has to be better than this crap. They will tell one person NO to part time, the next okay. Some work M-F which is what I was hired at, but then that changed. If this certain "supervisor" likes you.. well you can work what schedule and days you want. If you tick her off...and stand up for yourself.... well, you might as well give it up.!!!

98% of all Transportal work is in pools. If someone gets assigned work they probably made an agreement with whoever hired them. Same for schedules. Nobody gets to work whatever schedule they want. Supervisors have less control over these things than you might think. It's good you're leaving, though you're probably the type to come back crawling when you find out they weren't so bad afterall. I hope they don't take you back. Keep looking, there's a job out there that will make you happier.

Just got hired with them... and I'm on my last day of the first pay period... and let me tell you!!! If you get an offer... RUN!! It sounds good, but is far from it! Their sound files are horrible, they don't pay you any kind of training pay ( which I mistakenly MISSED on my part!! oops.. won't make that mistake again), and only give you LIMITED WORK while on QA review which amounts to like 200-300 lines a day!, and.... they have no account specifics whatsoever f ...

pay 8 cents a line? This is awfully low for an IC position isn't it? I mean, when you are IC don't you have to pay your own taxes and have no benefits at all? So in essence it's a lot less than 8 cents. Are they out of the their minds or is this how long IC jobs are paying now? Around 10 years ago when I considered an IC job it paid 13-15 cents a line to offset. ???? ...

i had a job interview with Transportal's recruiter this past week and one of the things she mentioned is the fact that they will require ICs to purchase Errors and Omissions insurance. She said that by February 2010 the government would be requiring all IC medical transcriptionists to have this coverage.
