stands for internet application service provider. The client may also already have something like this in his office where he dictates on a digital recorder, then uploads those files to you on his PC. What you would need is the receiving end of whatever program he is using in order to transcribe Most of the popular digital recorders have the software for this. Also try looking at a company called Transcription Gear. They may even be able to provide advice as to what you need based on the doctor's digital recorder and the software he has at his office already. My IC client does things the "old-fashioned" way. He sees patients 2 mornings a week and dictates on a regular recorder with tapes, which I pick up on Friday afternoon. You won't know what you'll need until you know what he already has. You don't need to hire in a specialist for this stuff. It's not that complicated really.
