Older MTs, who's taken SS early to get out of MT? - One foot out

Posted: Aug 10th, 2017 - 9:26 am

I'm 63, really, really ready to leave the field, don't want to pound the pavement looking for another job, can't find any other work-at-home, so am seriously considering taking SS early. I would make about what I'm making now in MT, but will be out an extra $800 a month at age 70. I'm more fortunate than some in that I do have a husband who will have a nice pension and SS in 4 years, but I still just hate to throw away $800. Any comments or words of wisdom from those who have made the jump? Any regrets?
