Is the correct spelling, well-developed or well developed?

Absolutely correct. I used to teach grammar. Also, see below:

Patient has followup (or follow-up) appointment. Patient will follow up.

This is a symptom-free patient. Patient is symptom free.

A large-bowel obstruction. Patient has obstruction of the large bowel. Note in this hyphenated example why the hyphen is needed. If it's not there, it sounds like the bowel obstruction is large. It is an obstruction of the large bowel, so large-bowel obstruction.
