How would you punctuate this sentence?

She has been having feelings of “pins and needles”

Where would you place the period?

Thanks!

Pins and needles is a commonly used term used by physicians and by itself does not require quotation marks. However, if it is a direct quote by the patient as explained to you by the person dictating, then quotation marks would be appropriate.
