obstetric question - kkreporter

Posted: Mar 29, 2012

Have a question about what the doc could be saying.  I know primigravida is a pregnant patient over 35.  But later he says this:

Q.    This patient was a []prime hit, correct?
A.    Correct.
Q.    And you told us earlier it could take maybe two hours of pushing with a []prime hit before delivery could occur, correct?

Earlier he had referenced that a primigravida patient could take two hours of pushing.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

No, primigravida is a first pregnancy no matter the age. sm - oldtimer

Your "prime hit" is primip, short for primipara (a woman who is giving birth for the first time).

Thank you so much. Bet that is what they are saying. I had seen primipara but knew that wasn't exactly as said. So I bet that is it, they are just shortening it.
Thanks again.
