"doc rod construct" - PixMT

Posted: Nov 09, 2012

Doc spells out d-o-c in "doc rod construct," but I can't quite verify this. Is this an abbreviation or an actual tool? I did see one link that said 'DOC VENTRAL CERVICAL STABILIZATION SYSTEM" but I'm still not sure what "doc" is. Any explanation would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Is this an op note? radiology report?

Sorry for late response - it was neither - OP

I had already submitted the report in, but if I remember correctly, it was listed as a past surgical history, so not really much in the way of context. I just wanted to know what the "doc" was, whether it's after someone's name, an acronym, etc.

Found it in my Stedman's Equip book 5th ed, pg 252.. - sm

Doc cervical dynamic rod
Doc cervical plate
Doc ventral cervical stabilization system

It's a capitalized word "Doc," and not an acronym "DOC."

Thank you, that's what I was looking for! - OP

Patient has failed back syndrome.  She fell recently and has exacerbation. Her films show no fractures or abnormalities and her s/l KH construct is still in good position.  Does anyone know of a KH construct?  I'm trying to hear cage construct, but don't.....  Any ideas?  Maybe there is a KH construct?  My brain is tired. ...
