Dr. did an exploratory laparotomy with control of enterocutaneous fistula with tube drainage and removal of Vicryl mesh and closure of the abdominal wall with s/l fraters artificial mesh.
Is the fistula a complication from previous hernia or - cosmetic surgery? sm
[ In Reply To ..]Any clues in the past medical/surgery history or preop dx about the etiology of the fistula? In what type of procedure was the original Vicryl mesh (that is being removed here) placed? Is this a complication of wound healing?
