Would you put "upping" or something else? - gagirl

Doc states, "I am upping his Nexium to 40 mg..."
would you put upping or change it. If change it, what would you change it to?
I would leave it as dictated - otherwise

My accounts are verbatim, so I would type it exactly like as it was dictated. But, if you feel the need to change it and your account isn't verbatim, how about "I am increasing his Nexium..."

Unless it is NOT verbatim and considered slang, type as dictated. I transcribe pediatric hospital accounts and docs frequently dicate "pooping, peeing, throw up," etc. We have been instructed to type these as dictated, as that is the accepted terminology for such clients. In most cases, you are safest to type as dicated unless it is widely considered slang, such as hep B, crit or such (and NOT verbatim).

Was thinking about using Dragon to do "echo dictation" but the cost for Dragon medical is prohibitive. Would like to know what other methods are available to increase production and people's experience with using word expanders such as InstantText or something else. I have gotta do something in order ...
