Sorry, don't know why I am questioning this . . . Here is the sentence: Pacemaker placed afterwards because he developed high-grade lactobacillus bacteremia which ____________ his AICD wires. Thanks for your help

I would choose seeded - as an infection starting somewhere.

The pacemaker wires may have been "seated" in a location, but that isn't how your sentence reads.
