Please Help Clarify - See Msg

Can someone please clarify something for me? I make eight (8) cents per line (cpl), but someone told me I'm making point eight (0.8) cpl. Tell me I'm not losing it, please.

Obviously 8 cpl (0.08). Whoever gave you that decimal number needs to go back to 3rd grade. NM - anon

...but is it 0.08 cpl or $0.08? If we take this to, say, 0.5, that is half a cent a line, correct?

Kind of 50 cents vs .50 cents. That would be $0.50 (1/2 of a dollar), not 0.50 c, correct? 0.50 cents would be 1/2 cent.

I thought I was losing it. I just knew I wasn't making 1/100 of a penny or 8/10 of a penny. Things are bad, but not that bad!

does not understand how decimals work or how money works.

Unless the person who told you that is the person signing your paycheck, just thank them for sharing and move on. Trying to educate the aggressively ignorant would be a waste of your time.

After reading the replies, seems what I meant to say was misconstrued. When I decide to inquire to e-newspapers about exposing MModal, I meant trying to get the message out about Americans' private information going overseas, as the main point. Ragging on how horrible the company would be just a side thing. If people don't speak out, things don't change. American women would not be able to vote if those strong, outspoken women way back didn't fight for that ...
