PORTACAVAL SHUNT - ittybiddy

Posted: Oct 25, 2009

MD dictated "Toward the end of the procedure, the patient was noted to be "abdully"??? forming a protein-rich asciitic fluid."  Any ideas how or where this fluid was formed?

could it be "abdominally"? That's where we find ascites...nm - elaine

Ascites, the fluid build-up in the abdomen, or peritoneal cavity.

This is fun!

I think you will enjoy being an MT! : ) - elaine
