Novocain or Novocaine? - to
Posted: Jul 13, 2012
Is it Novocain or Novocaine? I see it spelled both ways when I look it up and am not sure which is correct. Thanks for your help.
I've always seen it both ways, too, but... - S/M

...my Saunders Pharmaceutical Word Book, my Quick Look Drug Book, and my Stedman's ENT/Dentistry Words book all have it as "Novocain," so that's how I always type it. The VR, though, types it "Novocaine," and it's soooo aggravating to have to delete the "e" every time....so I finally started leaving it on there. But, technically, I think "Novocain" must be correct....or else all of these reference books have it wrong! :-)
