Is it seizuring or seizing - mt

Posted: Jan 25, 2014

The doc states the patient is admitted for seizuring.  I keep finding that seizing is correct, but then it state states that means taking away or grabbing.  Nothing to do with seizures, so I'm confused which would be the proper word.

Thanks,

M

Never mind - found seizuring. - Tx

I work in Neurology and it would actually be "The patient was admitted for seizures." or "The patient is seizing uncontrollably." (Also known as status epilepticus). Hope this helps.

I would type EXACTLY AS DICTATED .. sm - Too Many Freebies Already

We're hired to transcribe and/or edit dictated text. I am done doing all this free, unpaid crap, demographics, ccs, having to know the dosage of meds & normal lab values. This is why docs are paid big bucks & we get manure.

Yes, the correct grammatical term would be "seizing" but darned if I'm going to correct it. I type what's dictated, which is what I'm paid (in virtual slave wages) to do.

Dislike all you want, fellow MTs ... Well, I also dislike having to work for nothing while the rest of the health care industry is reaping the rewards of my hard labor.

seizing - kt16
