Doculax or Dulcolax - lg

Posted: Jul 28, 2011

Dictator is saying Doculax. I'm finding hits on several reputable sites (drugs.com, webmd, emedicinehealth, drugspedia.net, prescriptiondrugs.com).

However, the official website is Dulcolax, and I'm finding that on nlm.nih.gov as well as many of the above-mentioned site and MT stars.

Is Doculax a misspelling?

Yes, "Doculax" is a misspelling.

A search engine is basically a big catalog of everything published on line, so you can get lots of hits for commonly misspelled words.

I just tried searching for "Doculax", because I wanted to see what happened to you!

Some search engines will actually offer results for the correct spelling if the term you are searching is misspelled.

For an example, you can see this in action it if you google "Ducolax".

Some of the drug sites are reputable, but not necessarily reliable. I love to find an article, as you did, from the NIH, for example.

thanks! =D - lg

I'm a newbie and medications aren't one of my strong points. Just wanted to be certain it wasn't actually a different drug. I doubted it, since the spelling was too similar, but hey, thought I'd check :)
