Digoxin - lkite76

Posted: Mar 24, 2014

How would you know whether to use "digoxin" as in generic or "Digoxin" as in brand name (Canada) if it is just dictated in a list.  Is there some way to know this?

Thanks!

digoxin is always generic - NM

Dictated in a list is usually first letter capped, but I would - go with lower case if in the US. sm

as always, your mileage may vary depending on account, country, dictator preference, MTSO preference, etc, etc.

Digoxin Level

He's referring to a Digoxin level and shortens it to say "s/l Dij level".  I realize that it's probably not spelled with the j, but if I write it Dig level, then it's like digging with that "g" sound....would you leave it "Dig level"? ...

Frustrating - we are supposed to change from any slang terms, such as "dig" to the correct medication - I am tempted to leave it, as I don't know which medication it really is. Why should I be penalized for not reading their mind? TIA for your help on this word.  ...
