Calices vs. Calyces - cholifield11

Posted: Aug 01, 2012

In an autopsy report under the heading GENITOURINARY SYSEM, the sentence reads:

"The pelvises, calices/calyces, and pyramids are all well formed."

I am not sure if calices and calyces are interchangable or not. I looked them up and they have a slightly different meaning, but I am not sure which is correct for this particular report.

Please help!!!

I see no difference in meaning - nm

I've never typed calices. Always typed calyces.

Did you ask your instructor? That's what she is there for.
