BMET?????? - HELP

Posted: Jan 27, 2010

Is BMET a lab test? I'm totally second guessing myself, but something made me look it up today, and I can't find it anywhere now.

This pops up in cardiology notes, usually the physician orders a BMP and BMET.  Does this sound right?

Thanks!!

it's BNP (brain natriuretic peptide) - not sure about the other one--nm

I caught that after I posted. Don't worry, I have it as BNP in the report. The other one is bugging me.

Thanks anyway

He says BMET like a word. He doesn't just say the letters. Could be BMED, BMET, something like that. I'm stumped. Thanks anyway.

I finally found it after a lot of searching. I couldn't leave this one alone.

It is another name physicians use for basic metabolic panel/profile (BMET)

Thanks for the help!
