Using the Job Wanted Board

Posted By: All Posters Read on 2010-05-03

There are many ways to use the Job Wanted board.  There are also safe practices you, as posters, should take for professional security.

Posters responding to your job-wanted ad can be recruiters, facilities, any business wanting to respond to you.  Other fellow posters (MTs) can also make suggestions about companies to apply to that offer some or all of the opportunities you list in your ad.

It is very important to understand that a job-wanted post allows others to contact you via email.  No individual or business contacting you through this board will see or know your email address by using the contact options.  Once you receive an email, if you choose to respond to then you choose to expose your email address and any identity or information you provide (both in your ad and in your email correspondence, etc.) to that person/business.  Make sure you know who you are responding to before doing so.  You alone take the responsibility for such interaction.

There is a name field available that allows up to 25 characters.  Our suggestion is that you only put a first name or a nickname but not your full name.  Any person and/or business in the world can read what you post - including your name.  Make sure you do not expose your identity unless you feel completely comfortable with such.

Use the password feature.  Enter a password you can remember so that you can edit or delete your own ad if you choose to.

You agree to accept emails by posting on the Job Wanted board; however, you do not have to respond to those emails.  If you have a harrassing or objectionable email, please forward it to the Moderator (cher@mtstars.com).  Just be aware that just because you do not want that particular email does not make it harrassing - you agree to receive emails by posting here.

Our advice would be to create a specific email address to do your job searching through.

Posters who want to make suggestions on where you can get the line rate you are looking for, the worktypes, the schedule, the status, etc., that you list can do so by using the contact option.

Be creative with the headline/subject field.  It allows up to 50 characters.  You want to make your job-wanted ad to stand out.

The job-wanted board is for temporary (30 days) and/or additional job searching.  The resume board will remain in full use.  If you need/want to post your resume for potential employers to peruse for longer than 30 days, make sure you keep your resume in the resume bank.

The Job Wanted board simply provides ways for you to state clearly what you are looking for and others (other posters/MTs, MTSOs, recruiters, etc.) to be able to respond with suggestions, direction, interest, offers, etc.

If you have any questions, please notify the Moderator.
