REVERSALS - SAM

Posted: Oct 23, 2013

If one is lucky enough to get a FIASCO reversal, where does that eventually show up? Are we notified by email?

Also, if we are lucky enough to get a manual line count for an ISR job that we actually had to manually type because the ISR interpretation was so bad, where do those lines eventually show up? On our pay stub?

Don't hold your breath. sm - mt2

After never hearing or seeing anything regarding reversals, I quit looking at FIESA. It's been 2 years since I've bothered. As far as getting paid for having to type a job, good luck with that.

That's what I was afraid of. It seems that they placate us with empty words and we never get what is rightfully ours, even if a few pennies. I've never felt so disrespected in my life!

My TSM sends an email IF the correction was reversed. I have had some reversed, BUT I'm now seeing a trend. The ones that were reversed were things that just jumped right off the page as so wrong it was ridiculous. For instance, I was given a 1.0 major error deduction, but there was NOTHING in the comments section and no area of the report had been copied to show WHAT the major error was.

As far as getting the typed lines pay versus edit pay for a job that was initially an edit job, good luck with that. I did something like 4 or 5 in a row that had to be transcribed from start to finish, requested that I be paid a typed line rate, and was told "will run this by the COM and see what he/she says." I never heard another word about it, and I was NOT paid for the lines I transcribed but instead was paid at edit rate. I will never transcribe another job from start to finish that comes through for editing. I will "fix" it as best as I can and leave blanks where necessary.

I have given up enough of MY time and my peace of mind for this job. You can't win no matter how hard you try. If my accuracy score goes up, it's because I slowed down and my lines per hour went down. If I speed up and make money, then I'm hit with nitpicking from post-audit QA and my score drops to something ridiculous like 96% for stupid crap like missing commas. They will find SOMETHING to mark off for if you are actually making money, believe me.

And last but not least, I read on some forum I found when searching Nuance online where a QA person from India made a comment stating that they were specifically instructed to "make sure that the scores were low enough to prevent the MLS from getting any kind of bonus." In other words, you can't win. An "error" in my world is something that is detrimental to the patient's health and/or confidentiality, NOT missing a damn comma or forgetting to put the words a, and, or the.

You're right, very disrespectful...

It was an edited report from about 2 hours prior on an easy dictator I've done many times. There were 3 comments about how I put in dictation that was not dictated. I know I did not. I'm also seeing "errors" of things I know I didn't do. Either this VR crap is reverting stuff back or whatever, I know something fishy is up. And I haven't received a bonus in forever. I'm always close and then boom - errors upon errors.
I don't get the emails for some odd reason, but....sm - LoveMT

all I can say is THANK GOD because my email alert would be going off nonstop at the rate I'm accumulating errors! My nerves are already frazzled. The email alert would send me right off the cliff at this point! :)

Strange you should say that about VR reverting things back. Sometimes I go back and read a report again and that is exactly what would seem to have happened. Can't prove anything though. I do know it does this ΓΆ€“ if the dictator says "he" the VR will have it as "she." If the dictator says "without" then the VR has it as "with." "No" is often taken out to make it mean something completely different. You get the picture. I have even seen it take numbers and put them backwards. It will randomly put in completely off the wall things like inserting some kind of illegal drug in a social history when it was not dictated. Can you imagine if someone saw their medical records with something like that? If the VR can't pick up the dictation, it just makes things up. Then you have to delete and re-type. Tell me that is a good system?

I was starting to think I was going crazy! I'm not saying I never make a mistake, but I recently starting getting these error reports and some of them are really weird errors, and I was thinking to myself that I know I didn't type that!

Don't hold your breath. And if an ISR job comes into my queue needing to be completely typed out, back it goes! After being burned a few times I refuse to do them. It's bad enough I'm working for pennies, I will not work for free.

I agree, especially when it is a problem - they do not resolve

After repeated requests.

On my account, there are people "dictating for" the author. They are obviously not the author - different sex! Yet there are no instructions in the specs what to do in this instance and after repeated requests to resolve this I have decided they just don't care.

Since the ISR is based on the author's profile, it might as well be straight typing, yet I will never be paid for that, so back it goes.

Our very much loved former TSM was fired for no good reason about a year ago and his replacement is fairly useless. She sends more information about her family and recipes than stuff related to work, and hardly ever gets back to us regarding questions we have. I have to rely on info from these boards to know anything.

I'd send her email with her personal stuff to someone higher up and ask "is this work rela - me

Esp when you're waiting on a work-related answer.

I actually enjoy the fluff reading. sm - anon

Especially the recipes. Breaks up my day. Assuming that we had the same former male supervisor, I've found his replacement to usually be responsive and helpful. Have you tried calling instead of emailing? Good luck.

Reversals On Post Audits Are Virtually Impossible?
Aug 08, 2012

So from new info I just got, post audit scores are virtually impossible to reverse.  So apparently the people in that deptartment, QA or QC - whicever it is, must be Goddesses as that would imply they never make mistakes.  Our bonuses hinge entirely on these particular audits and they are WRITTEN IN STONE.  I find this kind of outrageous.   There is no human being who is perfect, so I have to assume that Nuance has hired this crew from Mt Olympus (I suppose they m ...

Why I Won't Waste My Time Requesting Reversals Anymore.
Jan 27, 2015

When it is dictated that the patient had knee surgery, (a couple of other procedures), then says rotator cuff and patella surgery... would that be considered a repeat of the knee surgery?   How am I supposed to know if when he dictated this, he was referring to the same surgery or not?   I blanked it and got an error on a post audit.   If I had repeated a DX in the list, I would have been marked off for that---cannot win either way.      ...
