should I challenge this? - got a headache

the doctor said in fact and i heard and frankly; doesn't impact patient care but was called a major error which of course the job fails.  Is it worth challenging?  It always seems like their word is final.

Well, it is an error, but don't think major. My opinion these type of errors have no business having points taken off. But this company will take points off for a comma, mainly if you typed the report, not so much with ASR. That is how they can get away with saying we are worse than the ASR and use that to sell the garbage.

I just write QA and for an error like that and if he is a mushmouth, I just tell them I wouldn't have made that mistake if the doctor would get the crap out of his mouth and move on. If he's not a mushmouth, I just say oops and move on. Don't really care about their audits.

what you think and why, but seriously I wouldn't worry about it. Hey, we all make errors and so does QA. They've made more errors on my reports than I have.

I do understand you being upset but it's really not going to rock your world one way or the other. It really doesn't matter if you fight it and even win. They can't be consistent and keep everybody confused on what is right. My opinion is that they do this stuff to keep us under control. They want you to feel like a failure. But, if you really want to fight it, just write your head QA person and tell them how you feel.

We all make errors, have all failed audits. I've failed audits for commas, is/was, etc., and because QA made mistakes on my reports audits. I just don't care anymore. What bottom line? The bottom line is they will do all they can to make you feel helpless and in their control. Take control of your life and don't let them do that to you.

Like I said before, if you want, write them, tell them how you feel, that shouldn't be a major error and move on.

I would tell them that is what you heard and would not put it down if you didn't. All it takes is a fresh set of ears to hear something different if he was mushmouth or not.

So sick of the emails. I really do not care what number our "team" is in, I know no one on the team anyway. If they want to reduce blanks there are better ways - talk to the dictators like they promised years ago, improve the audio, improve ASR, yada yada yada. But no. Blame the MT instead. Silly contest. All it did was encourage folks to guess in order to win a pittance gift card. Hopefully they will keep the 99.5 expectation, the only good thing that came of this supposed fiasco. ...

I am a very spoiled MT, having worked with Dictaphone's ESP expander for years (which I love!).   However, in the next week I will need to purchase a shortcut program/phrase expander to use with Microsoft Word.
