I have noticed SR has begun to put down contractions, i.e., can't, don't.  I was taught never use contractions in business writing and legal reports, spell out the word, cannot, do not.

We're all wondering how it even learned contractions since we aren't supposed to use them.

I think it's okay to use them inside quotes, but that's pretty rare.

I think VR is picking up contractions from - cr

quotes. I do a lot of psychiatric reports as part of my acute care account, and they usually start out with a quotation from the patient using a contraction.

I dont know, but it has started putting - follow-up with a hyphen

which I just noticed today. May have been doing it for a while, but this is my first time noticing it. It used to just always put "follow up."

If the Dr. is quoting somebody else and uses a contraction, do you transcribe verbatim or expand the contraction. Ex: ...she got the advice to "don't be on it that much". Do I leave it don't or change it to do not? ...

On Holter monitor, there were rare premature ventricular contractions and rare premature s/l HO or EHO contractions.  ...
