We should be able to sue the Q for lying to us! - Laughing, to keep from crying

Posted: Feb 28, 2012

I know it's my own fault for trusting them, but when they say "nothing is going to change, you'll keep your same accounts", etc... I SHOULD BE ABLE TO TRUST THAT!

I signed an agreement to work for them based on the information they provided me, and that lasted a whopping 3 days? Maybe 4? before I lost 2 out of my 3 accounts and was thrown into the cesspool.  It's BS.

I know we can't sue them, but damnit we should have some kind of recourse.  It's got to be considered hiring under false pretenses or something!

re-read that initial email -- nothing will change "for a short period of time" - or something to that effect.

guess we were delusional hoping short would mean a month or so.

I am actively looking outside of MT. It'll never go back to the profession it once was. The respect is gone. The facilities are used to low rates. So, there a slim-to-none chance it'll ever go back.

Actually the way they worded it was: - Laughing, to keep from crying

"It would be our goal for you to remain working on the same account and same dictators; however, depending upon schedules and/or work volumes, additional work from other facilities/clients may also be pooled to you."

My schedule didn't change, and I'm pretty sure the work volume didn't either, so that was a lie. And where they said "additional work may also be pooled to you", it should have said "we will remove your current accounts and replace them with crap".

So shady.... - Carrie

I noticed during the conference call that they were wording it something like: Nothing will change; you'll keep your same accounts "for now." That little disclaimer is what made me very suspicious that we couldn't trust that nothing would change, especially based on their history. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure he said "for now" every time he made a similar statement about what we could expect.

It's such a shame for those of you who chose to (or had to) stay after the acquisition. I'm not one who says, "Why do you stay? You DO have a choice." I know it's not that simple for everyone. For me, I stayed with a former company, even though my pay had fallen to way below acceptable levels, because I really HAD TO keep my health insurance in place. We had been turned down for an individual policy, and I had to have time to figure out some options.

Wishing the best to all of you.

Still Lying?

Check out this CareerStep school webpage: http://www.careerstep.com/medical-transcription/mt They claim that MTs can work at home and on average make $30,000 to $40,000 a year. And that it's a growing field. I thought it's only possible to make that much these days if you work onsite or have your own business? Is there a way to stop the lies? ...
