Underlining lecture - Ornery dictator

Just was given a passive-aggressive lecture by an underlining obsessive doc about how we as transcriptionist should be doing what he says and underlining what he says he wants underlining and that he will be making a formal complaint to the medical records department and adminstrator. Whoa there buddy, have at it.
The sad thing is, he will be told that he will get his underlining while they are grovelling at his feet and he will not be told that we are not allowed and even can't do any underlining. Sillies.

[ In Reply To ..]Not sure why you're assuming dictator is going to be told we'll underline. I just capitalize where they want underlined, unless it gets nuts. Then, I put a note to the client "all caps due to dictator request for underlining, underlining not supported by software." OR, if you aren't allowed to send a note to the client, send to QA and explain.
If you work for MQ and send to QA, you'll - end up getting docked

I completely ignore them when they do that. - They have no idea

When they try to tell me how to spell something (usually incorrectly) or tell me to put something in italics or underlined or whatever is on their brain that day, I just tune them out.
I used to send an email to my CCM, letting her know what the doc was going on about. Then she told me she didn't care and didn't want to hear it. Yeah...she's kinda rude like that.

I honestly have no idea what the job description of a CCM is with MQ. I do know that when it concerns the MT's their job is to parrot what corporate tells them to tell us. Its best to keep a very low profile and keep all your thoughts, comments and suggestions to yourself otherwise you are labeled as a troublemaker.
On the other subject of what the dictators want -- my favorite is when they stress abbreviations in the diagnoses -- they spell the abbreviations over and over so the idiots typing their reports will do it their way -- and surprise what do they get back? Why the abbreviation spelled out of course! LOL
