Just something to keep in mind, even if you think you are being anonymous on here, there is always the chance that your post can be tracked back to you...and if it is, MQ could always make your work life a living h___.

how? Who is reading it? - and why would they bother?

My CCM let it slip out once in a conference call. She was one of the good ones and of course she got let go a couple years ago.

Well, I hope Medquist has better things to do than spy on people and try to stop free speech. If they are, they need to get a life and focus on what's important: Making work better for their employees. We make the money for them.

see what some of their employees are saying, but unless you give out personal info or click on "email" someone, they don't know exactly who you are.

They don't really care, though. They mainly put their effort into figuring out ways to line their own pockets by taking as much as they can from the MTs.

The only ways a post can be tracked to a specific employee include:

1. If you give your name on your post.
2. If you give enough specific information that someone recognizes your situation, event, etc.
3. You respond to an e-mail you received from a post.

No one can get your identity on this board if you do not want them to have it. If you are so worried about it, then don't post...no-brainer.

Is there such a thing available that keeps track of "at the keyboard" typing time? I am one that gets up and down frequently throughout my work day and its hard to keep track of exactly how many actual hours I am typing. I want something automatic that I don't have to remember to click on/off because if I could remember to do that, I could remember to write it down :) Anyone know of something like this? ...

I recently quit my hospital MT job and started working for a mid sized MTSO. This was a big change for me, different platforms, different rules, different type of accounts. I have 4 accounts with this job, all with their own little rules and formats and things. Rarely are they taking 1/2 the time of straight typing. The majority are taking at least as long as it would to straight type and some more time. This is all due to the number of corrections and punctation and formatting I have to do! ...

Hello, I would like to transcribe from home again. However, I HAVE to get up and walk for a few minutes at least once an hour. You see, I had to have 2 back surgeries in the last 18 months. I've been a transcriptionist for many years and this is my profession. Does anyone have a suggestion what to tell these companies that will hire you to work from home when you have to get up so much? The last company I tried had a "pop-up" box that appeared on my screen if you were up longer than 10 min ...

I quit last July because they couldn't keep me "transcriptioning," sent my resignation to my supervisor, and then received a letter in October stating that I was terminated. Loved it! And I'm thinking of reapplying. Ought to be an interesting experience.. lol.. just love it! I don't have anything else to do, and what other company would let you not work for 3 months before they terminated you? Did I mention how much I love this ...

Thanks so much for any advice! I am newly divorced and working at a call center, and I have an MT certificate from Everett Community College, and even though I have lost 1/2 of my stuff thanks to my ex, I seem to have held on to my foot pedal, software, and that is about it. I would like to start over and try to find an MT job. I had an excellent GPA in school but have never worked. I graduated in 2007. Am I crazy to try? I figure it is now or never, anyway.
