This frosts my cookies - Let me vent...

After getting the smack down by the TAA "need a letter" thing, I was pretty discouraged. Then, I went to the post office this week and ran into an acquaintance who is 24 years old. She has been on Medicaid since she was 17, has 3 kids, and was very excited because "welfare" is paying for her to go to college.  And not community college, but the university about 45 miles from here. Plus she gets $400 a month food stamps. She told me "it's a good deal!" Hell yeah, it's a good deal. We're paying for it! I've worked since I was 16, or 40 years, paid my bills, supported my kids after a divorce, followed the rules, etc. Now, I'm thinking I was the sucker here.

Totally agree with you !!! I do not work for MQ, but work for another company and my work is pretty much dried up every day. I took a chance and applied for unemployment. Guess what - I am getting partial unemployment and my company apparently did not fight my claim. I told unemployment that I was not getting my 40 hours per week due to the fact that they were not willing to train me or put me on accounts to keep me busy and there was work in the system and they were still recruiting new MTs and work was being withheld from me. I would not bother with a TAA, but file for basic unemployment. They do not have to know the work is being sent offshhore, they only care about the fact you are not having work available. Don't open that can of worms. Hope it works for you as it did me.

Yeah, I know what you mean. My sister-inlaw did the same thing and they also paid for daycare for her kids and paid her rent and light bill. Now she has a good job making more than me right now. They should make those people pay some of that back.

I'm glad to know its there.... - sm

I'll be standing in line pretty soon the way my job is going. So, I'm glad that's all available for me when I need the food stamps and a college education as well as daycare! Good to know I'll be taken care of! Excellent! It won't be long now before I'll be signing up for Medicaid since I'm losing all of my accounts to the offshore workers! Good to know I'll get all of these things for free! Born in the USA!

Thank you too! - Anon

And I'm sure all of us struggling to make ends meet, have no medical insurance, and struggle to pay our bills every month, are just delighted to pay for your Medicaid, food stamps, and college education. How about some welfare too? Our tax dollars at work!
