Like Dolly says: "take this job and shove it" - Enya

My CCM reassured me that when the big account switch would take place I would remain on the same accounts.  She told the truth, I got the same accounts, but like so many, many others, I got put on 100% ASR and those mush mouthed dictators I heard so much about.  I tried to talk to her, my complaints fell on deaf ears.  (big surprise right!)Before this I had been blessed enough to have 80/20 MT/ASR, earing a healthy paycheck usually (not great mind you, but healthy).  I am simply one of those old MTs that do better typing, not editing.

Well. I had it.  I calculated my pay and it's pathetic.  I simply stopped working for MQ on Friday, flat out quit.  I barely got a call today asking if I was working, said I'm not going to work for them anymore.  She didn't even SUGGEST I give it another try!  Guess that's how much they miss and need me!  Didn't even ask for their equipment yet.  haha! (I'm going to put it in a box on the front porch!)

I'm working PT at a college campus, registration clerk right now.  I wish all of you who stay with MQ the best of luck and will continue to pray that the winds of change come soon, good winds that is!  I will pray for more US insourced MT jobs or that you find a job in a company that respects you and the fantastic job I KNOW you all do.  For now, goodbye!

Much respect,

~E

MQ wants MTs to quit -- they get off the hook - for benefits etc

I flat out quit last week also. I've been doing this for 25 years. I got sick of doing 100% ESL, the work that the ILPs can't do. It wasn't suggested I stay or give it another try, either. I was told they'll be sending the paper work so I can get their computer back to them. That was all they cared about. I'm sure they need to get it shipped to India.
